Catwoman and Dat Ass.

This week I got a wild hair up my ass and read Catwoman. I do occasionally read Birds of Prey. Since she was never part of tie ins I never really read the Catwoman solo book though. So I read it today. I was glad to see the Girl sticking to her roots. Sexy tight-fitting costumes. Shots of her butt and boobs in excellent "crime fighting" poses. And what is she doing in this issue? Stealing jewels from Cobblepots dead mother. Sound about right now me. Fucking love it. Catwoman doing catburglary. Then the issue goes on and she has a penthouse full of ladies. Ladies aren't cats. There are at least cat statues and toys around and stuff. But then she encounters  Lee Everett from The Walking Dead. Without the zombies around he apparently has super powers. And then he is a Minotaur. And then they are on a beach? How did they get on a beach? Then Cobblepot shows up to save the day? What? Why is Penguin suddenly showing up to wait. I am an idiot. I thought he showed up in helicopter on the last page. That isn't even close to what happened. what is wrong with me.

What is wrong with you. You been eyeing that butt up there. You like that butt? Check down below for who's butt that is.
Avengers: The Enemy Within #1

That is right. You were staring at Nightwing's butt. Does this make you wonder if you have a thing for Dick Grayson? Check out the rest of Nightwing 20 where there is plenty more shots of him taking off his shirt and showing off his butt. A few underwear scenes were thrown in just for your pleasure. He even fights another man in a tight fitting costume.

Did I mention that magneto is on the Birds of Prey now? Check that out. Go read that. Then we can talk about Avengers: The Enemy Within. Then I got within the last page for it to tell me that if I want to read the rest of that story then I have to buy a completely different comic. Um.. Okay. What is going to be in the next Avengers: Enemy Within then? Another Avenger having problems? Is that one then Going to be continued in another comic book even? Oh well.

Didn't read much in comics this week. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are going to be somehow involved in the next Avengers movie. Dwayne Rock Johnson is going to be Luke Cage in something. Renner better sure as fuck either return as Hawkeye in Avengers 2 or be a normal part of the cast on SHIELD. Now I get that that Nightwing picture is too big because I have ran out of things to say. Hutsafuzzit.

Framed

A few while there back now I posted an article about framing comic books. The plan was to get document frames from the Dollar Tree and put comics in them. Lazy SOB that I am I get any random frame that looks right and use the backboard that came with it. Went well enough after all.
I got a gift card for Dollar Tree for my birthday. First thing that comes into my mind of course is remembering the comic book frames idea I read about and reblogged. So I head out to the local shop with some ideas on shit I can buy. What could the Dollar store possibly have for a dollar that I want?

Well it turned out I wanted a lot of things from the store. A few things I needed and then a few things I just wanted. You may have already glanced to your left and noticed that that is not the batman #1 vol 2 (second printing) that I wanted to frame. Nor is it the Wolverine volume who knows what #1 that I wanted to frame either. It is a random Spawn comic. Where did I get a Spawn comic your are probably not wondering? Well I have an answer anyways. I got it from the dollar store. Not only did I get the Spawn comic but I also got a Crux comic pictured below and a Hulk 2099 Trading card from a set that I used to actually collect. All of this for a dollar. So that to me was pretty cool.

Excuse the lazy sizing. I am lazy on Tuesdays.  Whoa. Dammit Blogger. You need to get your shit together on letting me put images in. I am seriously disappointed. Anyways, I might read those two random comics but I don't expect much out of them. Still haven't read my Aphrodite IX from free comic book day yet either.   The more interesting thin even was when I opened up the package and found a little insert in there. Might have gotten ignored as just random junk inserts trying to get you to subscribe to stuff but I was interested in what it could possibly want me to subscribe to. Comic books by the pound. Yeah. You can order comic books from them by the pound. Try and tell me that isn't kinda cool. There was a decent selection of lots to choose from. Don't be surprised if sometime this year you hear about me ordering 50lbs of comic books. I would almost do it out of pure curiosity that they would actually send me that many comics. I definitely want to order something from them. I feel like I need a giant comic book collection. Http://cardsone.com if you are interested in checking it out for yourself. On to the framing.

Take this
Turn it in to this

And that is pretty much all that I did. The frame had an easel stand but that broke rather quickly. Can it be done better? Sure it can. Is there frames that fit it better? Yep. But I did not easily see them at the dollar store. For now. Seems pretty good to me. If only I had a place to hang it. And a first printing Batman #1. Or the B/W variant that I totally could have bought for $14 at one point and definitely should have. Well that is all I have for today. Arrivederci

Ah. It would seem that A. Bug also felt like talking about cites being destroyed this week. Looks like my Tuesday Filler post was more relevant than intended.

Newly rebuilt Baxter Building (Tuesday Filler)

In fantastic four #6 Doctor Doom launched the Baxter building into outer space. In another issue (or the same idk these comics are old) His adopted sun shot it into space and exploded it. I really hope this was the same event but would not be surprised if it happened twice.

Jade Ball Special

This was a good week. Aside from Superior Spider-Man I enjoyed everything I read this week.
{spiderman picture here}

First up is Indestructible Hulk. If you read last issue you saw that he picked up Thor's Hammer. Some Norse Enthusiast's may have some complaints about that. As with anything in a comic that you may have a complaint about, wait it out. They might be going somewhere with it. They might being taking 2 years getting around to tidying up their loose ends on your complaint. Give it some time to straighten itself out. This is how I feel the whole SpOck situation is going to go. I liked it from the beginning but it has lost its favor recently.

The hulk however just gets better. Fighting ancient Atlantean gods was cool and all, but fighting ice Giants with classic Thor is even cooler. Freaking Hulk smacking ice giants with Mjolnir Favorite part is right here.

You have probably heard of the fast ball special before. It is a thing where Colossus throws Wolverine at a protagonist. It is cool. People like it. It has a cool name. It is generally fun to throw dangerous people at your problems. This gets taken to a whole knew level as Thor (possibly) throws Hulk at some of the residents of Jotunheim. There isn't really a reason to throw Hulk. He is quite capable of propelling himself. It isn't even positive from the panels that he DID throw the Hulk. I think it is quite likely that is what is being displayed here. While not being necessary to throw the Hulk at your problems, if you were capable of performing such a feat you most likely would do so. I would. I'd have trouble throwing a football at my problems if it wasn't one of those Nerf ones with the tail and whistles on it and shit.

Hawkeye was good. The art was a little different and things were a bit off. At first I wasn't sure. It felt like I was reading a different kind of Hawkeye. But then I got the the end and felt it all tied it self up nicely. Spoiler alert! Grills (Gil) was shot last issue. That was a sad time. Some comics put in an event where a minor character that fans have come to love dies, then they never speak of him again and continue like everything is mostly normal. Clint however is notably torn up. The whole issue felt like it was a dedication to Gil. Also some character development for the protagonist and Lady Hawkeye. Why you no AR Hawkeye?

AR. I noticed a lot of AR panels this week. It really seems to have been picking up. If you aren't aware of what that AR is I'll quickly explain. AR stands for altered reality. It is a decade old technology where you hold something up to a camera and it makes it something else on the screen. Or stuff like that. A while back Marvel started adding these to comics. There is an app for your phone that would allow you to view the AR panels. Or you can just youtube it. Hold up your phone to the thing and you can view the extra material. However it still doesn't work right with my phone so I have yet to do it. As soon as I say this I get it to work.  So that is what that screen shot below is from the AR. The panel in question is being shown to us in the sketch variety and someone is talking to us about why he wrote this hulk story. Because he fucking wanted to.

Saving Age of Ultron for the weekend. Which was not an AR comic this week. They seem to go in and out on what is and isn't. A large varaity has used some AR in it at some point. Avengers, Wolverine, X-Men, Spiderman, Hulk, AU, lots of other stuff.

SURPRISE MOTHER FUCKER!!!
So on to DC comics. What did I read from DC comics this week? The DC comic itself. Detective comics has quickly grown into something for me to read. IDK if they changed writers or anything recently but I have been enjoying reading it. I was hoping for a continuation of the short in the back of, I think, Batman Inc. Silly thought I had. But this issue was also pretty good. Continued on the Harvey-Birdman story line. Had some dark grim imagery like I like to see sometimes. Also the most important part. The Tumbler. IDK at what point Batman actually got a Tumbler but the mother fucker Has a Tumbler. He wanted to send a message and the message was received. Also then Batman proceeded to fuck up. Because he is still in rage mode over Damian or because sometimes you just fuck up? Who knows. But We got a new villain on the rise out of this. I like this. I liked the story. I still want to read more damn Supernatural Investigation with Superman and Batman.

BOOB WINDOWS (Tuesday Filler)

I tried to get a picture of porn version Power Girl but she wouldn't keep the outfit on long enough.

So I have been doing research on boob windows in comics. I didn't want to turn this into a sexualization of women in comics. They do the exact same thing to men so whatever. I am more wanting to report on boob windows as a fashion design thing. I don't know what authority I could claim to have on fashion but I am going to try this anyways. This is going to take a while to do the write the kind of article that I want to write so here is a dump of some images from my research.

Not pictured, Underboob.
Women have boobs. It is socially acceptable to display portions of your boobs so that people can admire them in quick glances when you, hopefully, aren't looking. There are many ways to display your boobs. Pictured to the left is a few of the ways boobs can be viewed in public. We have regular cleavage, the classic. We have sideboob, a sign of a fancy dress. And as part of the title we have the boob window. As it hopefully you have seen in real life boob windows aren't only in comic books. They are a little more unnatural looking in many female super hero outfits when put together with a skin tight outfit. I'll use boob a lot in this article.
Star Trek has the cleavage window. It is even part of the Klingon standard issue outfit. This is what was wrong with the federation outfit. Imagine Deanna Troi or 7 of 9 in boob window outfits. Giggity. At some point I know I will get to comic girls in weird outfits. But first off I have to explore the analogues with regular people clothes. And I guess watch more porn parodies. Did you know that Time Lords and Klingon both have two hearts?

Now I prefer to write my articles sequentially as opposed to going back and editing them. By this is mean I start writing before I know where exactly I am going to end and then I just keep going from there. Essentially I don't have the time or skill to go back and be more concise. What I do have is pictures of boob windows in comics. They are everywhere. I have searched and searched for something to say about them. They are a topic that I take note of often. The only thing that I have definitively come up with to say on them by the time Tuesday rolls around is that they are silly. They are everywhere. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CleavageWindow Tv tropes doesn't even scratch the surface of their use. So here instead of more comments is what you may have come to see. The image dump.

This is possibly the dumbest one I saw during all of my research.
Later the boob window was removed from Rockets outfit in ICON.
I do belive that is Talia Al Ghoul

That is just a few pictures that I have gotten off the internet. I shall add to this every now and then as I read comics and see more of them.

Okay Witchblade is allowed to have boob windows.

Uncanny Spoilers

Uncanny this, Uncanny that. I was going through my unread comics from this week and the past few weeks. I noticed a trend. Too many comics had Uncanny at the beginning. Most of them All I can read is Uncanny... then the rest is cut off. IDK why I don't have some type of newstand app. I also have the windows 98 look on my computer so maybe I just like looking at things like that I guess. Anyways. Uncanny X-Men

Speak his name and he shall appear.

Marvel Comics #1 (Oct. 1939), the first comic ...
Marvel Comics #1 (Oct. 1939), the first comic from Marvel precursor Timely Comics. Cover art by Frank R. Paul. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Hey dog. It is Tuesday. Do you know what times it is! Yes we can!

There are many things that appear when you speak of them or speak their name. Much power can be given to a name. The Devil, Beetlejuice, Melkor and Sauron both I belive, Voldemort, CandleJack, The Fairy Puck, Morpheus, Undertaker, Odahviing, red squiggly lines. Well red squiggly lines accept a lot of invitations that weren't meant for them. Most of those weren't comic related. And none of you have been in a published comic either have you. So you aren't about comics. GUH! I am digressing too much. At least I didn't write that joke blog where I pretend to be offended about the use of the devil in comics.

Honestly I don't know where I am going on about here. Here is Ron Perman being a badass.

I promise I am not just trying to pad up the size of this blog with big picture and links to shit and all sorts of other trickery to have you spend more time on my page. I'm probably already getting to the point where you want to click next on the blogs. But you can't That is gone. Mwahahaha. (filler episodes usually suck). Sorry I should get to talking about something about comics. Hellboy is comics. But I haven't read any Hellboy recently  ever. I really haven't been reading comics all that long. I don't see that as a bad thing. I don't feel that not reading comics for that long disqualifies my opinions. I have been a comic book fan for a long time. I would by a one off every now and then. That was really my extent of comic reading. I didn't have the means for keeping up with monthly comics. I did read manga. I liked that a bunch of stories came in one neat little book. It was convenient.

So now I read comics. I have been reading for like 6 months or something idk. Reading regularly that is. I knew most of the back stories for everybody somehow. I'm honestly not sure how I had as much comic knowledge as I did with the amount of exposure I had. It definitely isn't proportional to my English skills versus exposure. Wait did you tell me to drink a rum and Sprite(r)? FUCK YOU I"LL TYPE IN WHATEVER WINDOW I WANT! Capslock is for noobs. I hold shift. Quick reminder there is two shits on your keyboard. Do you use both like you are supposed to or do you do finger yoga everytime you need a capital G. *don't link NIN songs, you arleady linked enough songs* The worst part about filler episodes is how long they seem to drag on.

Hey. This blog is now about demons like it was supposed to be. My name is never was. I sometimes like the theme of demons in a comic. I can enjoy hellboy. I can enjoy a short trip to hel to talk with hela or a trip to Azazel's hell so Wolverine can Snikt some demon dogs and shit. I liked the story they did recently in uncanny
X-force.. wait. No. One of the x-forces was caught in the middle of a fight between all the respective rulers of different hell's. I liked this. I like any way that John Constantine or Circe go about playing with guys from hell. You know what? You're my wonderwall. I mean I like the theme overall. If I was presented with an American comic with demons in it I would be inclined to look at it. I specify American because Japanese can treat their demons way different than we generally do so it requires more to go on. This even extends to other comics that deal with another type of occult situation. I love The Crow and some of the related comics/movies/shows.

What I don't like is when it seems to be inserted into an unnatural place. Granted as I said I haven't read enough comics to earn my right to complain. Spider-Man however does not need to be hanging out with demons and getting a barbed penis from Morpheus or whatever the fuck happened. I have no idea what happened of if nuzelock made 100% of that shit up. Now Captain america fighting hordes of demons just doesn't make any sense. Red skull yes, other shit with red skin and weird faces no. I don't want to watch Superman Duel with the devil. MTG players recently saw the duel between Sorin the lord of Vampires (and Innistrad) go up against Tibalt the Half Demon Planeswalker (who once lived in Innistrad before he sparked) That isn't relevant you say? Have you been reading the IDW Magic Comic? Well I keep forgetting too. At least I picked up issue one before I forgot. Even though it didn't go up in value.

Now I have my particular religious beliefs and  you have your particular beliefs. I always wonder how they go about thinking how to approach characters that seem a bit biblical in comics and some other media. A lot of the time they seem to go off of the approach that it is there world they are writing here and you have to accept whatever version of reality that they put forth for you to view at the time. I didn't hear anybody bitching about Dogma. I'm sure even the concept of Having Thor be an actual character in Marvel comics was a struggle. I know what J.R.R. Tolkien went through as he wrote it out for us in a few letters that have been published in places like the Silmarilion. I have a character in my Mutants and Masterminds that would like to believe that he is descendant of biblical angels. Not sure how to go about it though. Seems every path leads me to nowhere. Do I just go with lots of things or right or do I go with the church is right or do I just go naw dog. You are just an angle. Don't be so obtuse about it. Here comes the rooster. I really have already come to the conclusion that I wanted to about it. But I bring up the question anyways. I still have personal reservations on ways I would like to write the story and certain amounts of religion that you must address when writing a story. You know I used to think he said that he took his pills for machine gun death. Much worse than mosquito death but if there were pills for machine gun death those would sell out fast.

We have magic users in the game. I plan to make them an important part of the world besides mutants. So then again we have the question of religious beliefs. I prefer to go with the whole nothing is certain this is not any different from real life where nobody is certain approach. At the same time one of the main NPC's has met and works for Hela ruler of Hel. Sure the Asataru memebers of my local group will just be like, "yeah that is cool, why are you saying it like that though" I looked it up. It is an acceptable pronunciation. Also it is my world and I'll make her a stripper if I want to who runs a blackjack table in vegas. *writes that down for future use* But how is the Angel in the group supposed to feel about that. How much am I allowed to tell the people in the group how their character feels. I have already gotten a few characters complain about why on earth they would be part of the group. My response should just be that you should reconsider your character then because this is the story you are playing. When I get these complaints for seasoned table top players it makes me question if everything is going according to hikaku*. I feel like I should remind the players that as GM I am god. I am infallible (unless you can show me in the rule book where I did it wrong)That sounded like a person being way more sure of them selves than I truly am. I wonder how much I will be able to put my foot down. I also wonder how much being an angel I can put into the story before the players are uncomfortable with the story.

Burn burn like wicker cabinet. Feel free to leave you comments on the subjects below. Thank you for reading this far. I'm going to pop over to writing over on my more personal blogsite before I ramble on to much about myself or get to telling you about all sorts of video game and board game stuff. That's right. I talk about board games and video games on the other one. And myself. So the link is at top for the adventures of nothing in particular. Technically this post will actually go up after that post is posted possibly.

80 page spectacular!

DETECTIVE COMICS ISSUE 19. SPECIAL 80-PAGE SPECTACULAR. As I start this blog this is all I have read. I'll just be honest that I borrow digital files from another person. So I don't know if this is out this week or if I am ahead of schedule or if they just usually print the next month on a comic ahead of schedule. Who knows. But this "80 page special" is more of a 72 page file. Then it there is 3 covers the two pages of that stupid news thing at the end and another fluffed page with nothing on it of note. I did accept the random art pages as pages though. But I assume there was ads that I am missing and it is 80 pages ads including.

What I do know is that this was a good read. I haven't been reading detective comics, but if they are mostly comics told within the confines of one book I would like that. The stories all interact with each other and with all sorts of other bat comics. However they finish the main problem within the story they tell in need comic. I like that. Six issues in a row with cliffhanger endings ruins the drama of a cliffhanger ending. Just my opinion but damn if it doesn't get me some times. Anyways. Not turning this into a rant.

So here is a rant about what Batman is wearing in the first and last story in this issue. Batman is getting old. Ever since Detective comics first ran the Batman Issue back in 1876 we have seen the gradual modernization of Batman. Only in a few non cannon stories with their own run have we seen Batman get old. Even in Batman Beyond he didn't seem like he really got that old. He was still fighting crime and shit.

It is good to see them finally showing some age with batman in the New 52 version of batman. Alfred Pennyworth or Penny One as he is now called is quite balding with a ridiculous comb over. Now we have Batman wearing suspenders like a grandpa. Look at those. I posted them right to the right so that you can tell. Not only is he wearing suspenders now but he is forgetting what characters are in what comic universe. Frankly he is going senile. He should have guessed Savage Hawkman. That would have been funnier for me to write about. also I think Ivy is getting grouped in the panel right below that. Oh yeah. she is. Rated T for Teen.

Being rated T for Teen another thing I would like to talk briefly about. I like that they do this. I know there was a controversy way back when green arrow wanted to write a comic about speedy being on drugs. They were all like whoa whoa whoa. Can you write a comic about that? Then they came up with their own comics approval board. Then later on they ditched the approval board because everybody was either behaving or writing a comic with out the approval of the board and just warning them on the cover.

I like how nobody has tried to step in, at least in recent times, and censor what a comic is going to be about. Comics have been around for a long time and come a long way to earn that place. They regulate themselves and they do it internally. They don't need a big corporation hovering over their heads judging there every move and they definitely don't need a government run one doing just that. This is why I enjoy comics as one of the best ways of artistic expression. Movies have the MPAA sitting over their head and maybe even a few others that I don't know about. Without their approval and rating they can't put their movies in theaters. But a comic only has to go through their publisher and the editor for approval for sale on comic store shelves around the world. (should look up how other countries sell comics before making this claim maybe) Some people make jokes about how editors are evil but everybody has editors anyways and everything not indie and even a good bit of what is considered indie has a publisher.

Games seem to have it the worst right now from what I see where I am sitting. The ESRB and 15 other different ratings boards around the world do not seem to be doing the good that they were intended to be doing. I do like there is a convenient and recognizable symbol on games to say whether or not they are appropriate for kids. I also like that is is not government regulated and is basically game publishers distributing censorial duties amongst themselves through a board they set up. Unfortunately this board was born out of lawsuits and government interactions. On top of that it isn't doing the good they wanted it to do. parents don't care what they by their kids on the most part. Any form of forcing kids to be unable to get these games is not what is going to stop them from playing them. Honestly I don't think they need to be stopped. That is entirely up to the parent. I do agree with stores refusing to sell M-Rated games to minors. That should be kept up. Generally a store won't sell comics like that to kids either. Granted on average a comic store employee knows their comics better than the average person working electronics at Walmart that had a prompt pop up on their screen asking for ID.

With age comes acceptance. Music in its various forms has gotten away with regulating in however it feels is appropriate to sell its wares. Parental Advisory stickers do their work. Movies have gotten to the point where they can sell their DVD as unrated and nobody complains anymore. One day I would like to see games get to this point. I would say keep the E, T, M ratings but drop the ESRB part off and be allowed to regulate themselves departmentally. There is no reason this transition can't be made smoothly. I feel like the fact that they have a regulating board is just more fodder for the talking heads to make people blame the problems of society on others. Perhaps the future will come. Games will mature. Digital games will likely be the first to adopt. I don't ever remember seeing an esrb rating on Minecraft. I searched it.
It doesn't have a rating except on XBLA where it is required to.  This guy also did some talking about the issue. Randomly found it while searching for CCA picture to use. http://kotaku.com/5975124/comic-books-disastrous-self+censorship-offers-a-lesson-for-games-publishers-too Sorry it is from kotaku. It isn't one of the journalists I don't like though. Also I like posting the full links when they describe themselves.

Unrelated. but HBO SHOWS WITH BOOBS! GAME OF THRONES. BOOBIES. If you don't like boobies here is some a butt from Detective Comics #19

Comic Frames (Tuesday filler)

I am a bit transient right now. Not homeless. But not living at home either. I have a house but it is unlivable as
is. I don't have a place on the wall to hang my comics but I would like to keep them safe and nice when I have ones I like. At my house in what used to be the game room I have a bunch of  pictures on the wall. Well not pictures. I picked up a magazine that was all Nintendo posters. In my room I also have a collection of posters all jumbled together. These looked good when I was a teenager. However they didn't translate into looking good when I was an adult. Ideally I would like to frame some old posters like my Metallica poster, Fallout 3 poster and Bioshock poster. However I have come to find out that a bunch of posters stapled to the wall just doesn't come off as looking that good. I would love to start buying comics way more often and was looking for a way to frame them.

Then I found this link. This guy used simple dollar store frames to hang a shit ton of his comics on the wall.
Look at all them transformers comics
Frankly I only have maybe three I would want to hang on the wall right now. Eventually when I open my house back up to guests I think this will have a nice look to it. I shall dedicate an entire wall to comics. One day, perhaps, I will fill it all up with meaningful comics. That was all for today. Hopefully I got around to adding the pictures before this ended up posting itself. This is what you risk when you schedule posts 4 days in advance. EDIT: Added. Take that Lex Luthor.

Prehensile Hair

If I were in a comic
this would be me.
This week I talk about hair in comics. Not really. It is a brief conversation about FF issue 5. What's her face has prehensile hair. Crazy power I know. But apparently it is enough to be on the most boring team ever. The back up force for fantastic four. I must say that I did like them in Avenging Spider-Man. The little brats were interesting. However in their own comic they turned out to be boring as shit. The fantastic four is still missing so the fantastic force or whatever is donning suits with 4s on them because the city will be plunged into chaos without them apparently. A much older johnny returned though. Although he did seem to know how he was or how he lost his eye. Then he proceeded to burn to the Bowery  Worse yet. He burned off this mans beard. Yeah. that is what that is to the right. Johnny Blaze... no wait, that is ghost rider, Johnny storm? Dumb names. Anyways. Flame on guy burns down half the city baby gets sent off to space with prehensile hair lady and nothing makes sense. I think FF is dumb and boring but feel free to read it and obtain you own opinions.

Totally Tuesday filler.

Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson. Panel from Batma...
Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson. Panel from Batman #84 (June, 1954), page 24. (Photo credit: Wikipedia) This panel added for absolutely no reason.
This is my Tuesday filler post. What is that you say? It is Wednesday? Wed NES day? You are a freak. What is wrong with you.

But yeah. It totally is. I didn't even make a post about shit that I read. I made a post saying I didn't read anything... then I read a few things.  So this is a "filler" post which is totally considered filler while my last post was totally considered valid content. Deal with it. Now on to what I have read.

Pi Day Comics in Review

Happy Pi day everybody.

Spent my Wednesday playing board games with a few friends of mine. I may have even missed a few comics this week. I definitely enjoyed Batman #18.

Tuesday Filler, Cable

(IDK what you call it when you update a post before it is even posted. LIES) link to a blog about the free comics click that link.  Would you like to know what that link is? 700 free comics (digital) from Marvel Comics. Offer is over Tuesday night. Okay That is the interesting part then we talk about Cable.

Double update to a post I haven't posted yet. The whole thing has turned into a bit of a fiasco with servers going down left and right. Comixology is the company that runs online comics for basically everybody who sells digital comics. They issued a letter to their customers explaining what is going on and telling us they are extending the event. Likely they are going to wait until Thursday if not the weekend so that nobody is interrupted in downloading their weekly comics. Sign up at their link for updates on when it comes back http://blog.comixology.com/2013/03/11/message-from-the-ceo/

Updates

This is just a little update on updates.

  • New Logo

First off, if you were astute enough to see that I added a new "Logo" to the header than you have flattered me. I decided that the blog should look at least a little bit fancier. So I am trying to think up a good logo to have. For now we shall have this. Knowing my laziness this will be the blog logo till the end of blogger.

  • Comic Name
The Smiths
Cover of The Smiths
I am aware that most readers will have no idea what the title refers to. This is fine with me. I know that I am mostly just posting to my facebook friends anyways. Short version my other blog is called Adventures of Nothing in Particular. Long version is that I had a comic book that I made, in a notebook of course, back in high school. I named it Adventures of Nothing in Particular after the line from The Smiths song, "...and the heir, of nothing in particular". This is actually a reference to George Eliot's novel Middlemarch. So that is where the comic got it's title and therefore were my other blog got its title.

  • ANP
Adventures of Nothing in Particular is the other blog like I just mentioned. I have decided to start updating it again. I do sometimes* like to ramble on about things. (*Read sometimes as always.) When it isn't completely comic related I think I am going to try and post it to the other blog, often shortened to ANP.  The blog design for Comics in Particular was copy pasted from ANP. This is why a few things are from an older time of the internet. I am trying to keep it more updated now and not include Google Buzz links. I am going to keep them looking like each other however. They will be directly related although separate blogs.

  • Comments
You probably haven't noticed but I took off the comments section. The real choice behind this was that I thought it was big and ugly. I DO want to hear your comments and want you to be able to share your comments with other people. However it is rare that someone makes a comment and it is just a big empty thing without them. If I find a way to make comments not look so ugly I will put them back. For now I would prefer you comment on the Facebook or Google+ link that I shared the blog from. My Google+ page is at the top for those that want to follow me. All posts will be posted to the post on post+.

If you want to follow this blog then click that button on the top right to follow me on Google+ This is a reiteration for people who can't make it to the end of a paragraph without getting bored. There isn't much interesting content in this post, I know. It is more for informational filler. Information I almost forgot to put in is that I use Zemantra. Sometimes I leave in their little thingy at the bottom right corner. It helps me add stuff to the blog when it is a bit to boring. So what I am going to do now is head over to the right of the compose box (I prefer HTML writing but I have to go into compose to use zemantra) and click some stuff to make this blogpost a little more interesting.

There. facncied. up.

Avengers, A symbol.

Anybody who would know this is a spoiler based on the artist I should think has already read this comic already. For those of you that don't recognize the brilliant colors of Fiona Staples this happened in issue #11 of Saga.  I don't know how I feel about it. On the one hand, I think this battle that is about to happen is logical and makes sense. On the other hand it seems a little bit like a dog chasing its own tail. I may not be that good at comics knowledge but I was under the assumption that what got us to the point in the story that we were reading two pages before this happened was that the Avengers had a big fight with the couple from saga in the first place causing all the life changing things that have us where we are.

Smeagle, OSC, heroclix

Smeagol sings Mad World, New developments in the Orson Scott Card fiasco, and then I will find something else  Short intro click jump.

Ride The Lightning

This is actually a comics post. YAY. I have read a few of this weeks comics. Honestly the one I was most excited to read was the new Hawkeye. I am loving that series. I'll talk about it a bit more later. Batman Inc also came out. Another new bit for The Guardians. Fuck you squiggly lines. I have trouble spelling Gaurdians fucking dammit. I was looking right it it spelled correctly and still spelled it wrong. Fucking fingers. I have some opinions. Soup. So I'll get right into it so I can ramble on. I have some quite opinionated opinions. Lets turn it up and Kell 'Em All.

Meta-Humans. Do They Walk Among Us?

Have you heard of any superheros flying around? No. You have not. You smoke too much weed. Last week when we were doing acid you spent most of your time crying about DUST BUNNIES to even imagine you could fly. Have there been some people that have had near super human abilities? YES! There are programs on that. Or programes if you are watching them in England where they call a season and series and who knows what the call the series as a whole. Have their been vigilantes? Yes. If there wasn't vigilantes then why would we even have come up with the word. The recent Donner situation has even drawn some parallels to comics, movies, conspiracy theory novels. Super villains? Bin Laden? No. Real people aren't quite the same and we are not about to discuss the holocaust.

So super heroes don't exist and super villains are up to interpretation. But what if they did? How would the come about? What would be the most likely ways for a superhero to actually come about? Following is my (insert number here) ideas on how it could happen and why I am excited about that possibility. I will also try and dig up some examples of how it has already started.

About myself

How about a little post about myself.

Get it? See what I did there?  I am an angry Asian kid who just learned English. This isn't true but it may help you in accepting my dialect. I don't take shit for an answer. No is sometimes acceptable. But then I don't give a shit so that is sometime of geometry crap that I can't recall from 10th grade. Please no geometrical shit pictures. r/spacedicks.  Fuck it. Helvetica. I like this font beterer anyways. Gooder? You get the idea. recently I have been all about comic books not capitalizing the first letter in sentences.

Do you like rollercoasters? What about inconsistent rollercoasters? What about roller coasters? IDK if it is my bipolar and my ADD working together against me but I am not consistent. The quality goes up and down. Dramatically  But stick with it as you won't want to miss the good parts. I will not likely do any belittling you or demeaning your values (unless you still live in national socialist Gramartzia.)

I hope to entertain you by being stupid. Not because I think that you will be entertained by the act of me being stupid but more because I am actually stupid. I graduated high school then banged my head into a wall for 7 years to make sure I forgot everything I learned or conned my way out of doing. I am not even good at conning my way out of doing things anymore.

I lost track of what I was saying. If you have come here for a serious discussion about comics I suggest +Kyle Beck's Not available on Wednesday. <-insert link later.

Also I have a beard

The real dolphin of this post was to announce the new design and see what you guys think. You have been tricked.
